The Clare Island Food Festival

    August 12th & 13th 2017

    Now in it’s 4th year, the Clare Island Food Festival looks to encompass what is native to Clare Island’s shore, in keeping with the island’s drive towards sustainability. With only a few operators on the island, this is a boutique festival which honors what is naturally provided by the environment and produced by the islanders, and focuses on quality fare.

    Clare Island has a long tradition of fishing and making a living from the sea and so there is a strong focus on seafood. This festival is in celebration of all those seafarers gone before us, as well as those who work the land.

    The line-up of events for the weekend are as follows:

    Friday, 10.30pm Live entertainment with Gary O’Malley
    Saturday, 1.00 – 3.00pm Sailor’s Seafood Fest – Local Lobster €20 / Mussels €10 / Keem Bay BBQ Salmon €10 / Local Mescan beer €5
    Saturday, 3.00 – 5.00pm Afternoon Tea with Cora at Grainnuaile House  – wonderful locally baked delights (€10 Adults / €5 Kids)
    Saturday, 8.00pm

    Seafood banquet: 

     Set menu – starter / middle / main / dessert / wine

    Please note:

    • Except for Afternoon Tea with Cora (which takes place at Grainuaille House), all events take place at Sailor’s Bar & Restaurant
    • Booking is essential for the Seafood Banquet on Saturday night.
    • All other events are on a first-come, first-served basis.
