Working with horses for market gardening

A 3 days course on the use of working horses and donkey for market gardening is currently being organised with the help of the Organic Centre. It will be held in Killaloe, Co Clare in late September or early October (dates to be confirmed.) It will cover horse management, harnessing a working horse, ground work (harrowing,etc.) in long reins and ploughing with a team. The trainers are Jim Cronin (experienced market gardener regularly working with horses, and trainer with the Organic Centre), and Godfrey Wannel (horse trainer and ploughing champion).
